It's Kansas, I don't rely on weather reports much because our weather here is so hard to predict. That said I did put the snow shovel in the front of the garage this week and picked up 3 new ice scrapers for the family fleet of vehicles yesterday.

I start believing the meteorologists when it gets within a couple of days, but I follow the revised forecasts as it gets closer, as I know they are always refining their estimates. That said, I've heard that snow is the hardest for them to predict. Just a slight variation, and the amount or type of precipitation can change drastically. Still, better for them to give us a heads up that it is possible, so we can make our preparations and plans.

Put the heaters in my stock tanks...I'm ready! LOL
Cold doesn't bother me until it's -10 for several days/weeks...even then, it's bearable when the wind isn't howling. My wife...she no like some much.
I remember how cold it was in KS back in the early 70's. I bet TK has stories about CO, too.
Be prepared, though, especially with your travels.

Starting to freeze the rain here now. Mailbox is covered in ice. Praying it turns to snow before it damages the trees.

Here in Indy there's no precipitation yet. Cold, windy, but dry. Hope it holds off until about 8pm, so we can make the drive home without ice, but doubt that will happen. I'd settle for it coming down as snow, rather than sleet or freezing rain.

I'd settle for it coming down as snow, rather than sleet or freezing rain. Elk City Reservoir is an excellent place to go sledding...for kids. Yeah, but we've got a great place at our BU county home. Neighbor owns the wooded property that includes a farm access road. Gave us permission years ago to use the road too. Our driveway is on the cul-de-sac, and the road is just off it as well, so a very short walk from our property. Vertical enough to let gravity do the work, not so vertical that it can't be walked up (by someone in decent shape, anyway). Road makes a 90 degree turn to add somewhat of a challenge, but enough underbrush lines the road to stop you if you can't get the sled to stay where you want it to go. Kids are in their 20's now, and no grandkids, so we don't do much sledding now. Think the last time we did the boys were in high school. Best part is that we haven't had anyone else come to use the road (for sledding or anything else) while we've been using it.

Nothing but light drizzle last night and during the day... off and on. However saw a car with a Pratt Cty tag driving in front of me on Hwy 54.... that had the back covered in some snow. They were headed towards Pratt, so don't know if they got it from somewhere else and were going home.... or got it in Pratt , came here and were then going back home. But somebody got some.

It is a really cold morning for the first time this year. Harder to get used to the cold the older I get.

Definitely nippy! We noticed a dusting of snow left when we arrived at the BU Co place on Friday evening. Otherwise, it rained before the cold temps got here, and then stayed dry. Made the drive easier to handle.
I've never liked cold weather, but with the neuropathy in my feet that I got due to one of my deficiencies this year, it is even harder to feel like I'm warm.

Wichita missed the nasty weather the last time. It looks like the weather is planning a "do over" for this week.
