I have carried many ways since I started carrying a long time ago. Sans holster first. Not wise. 4 0'clock carry long enough to have a permanent back ache. AIWB with a good holster is the only way to carry IMHO.

OWB high ride. If I wear IWB my pants have to be too loose and it makes me look fat.

SmartCarry, usually OWB, but the more weight I lose, the more I'm carrying IWB to keep my jeans from falling down.

I carried a .25 Beretta automatic for years in an ankle holster before concealed carry was allowed.

I carried a .25 Beretta automatic for years in an ankle holster before concealed carry was allowed. Sound like you and I are going to get along great.

AIWB. Either a glock or HK P30. I love the kydex holsters - great retention, easy to keep clean, & comfortable - even on hot humid days.

I will add I carry AIWB with a tucked in shirt 90 percent of the time. It is the only way to carry tucked. IMHO Because if you need to use it with a shirt tucked in very hard to draw from behind the hip.

If I have to have a shirt tucked in I switch to pocket carry because I'm not sure that I would want to have to use both hands to draw, one to pull the shirt up and one to grab the weapon. With an untucked shirt I can capture the shirt with my extended thumb on the way up and get a grip on the weapon with a short downward movement that leaves me clear of the shirt.

It is not all that hard to get the shirt untucked with the same maneuver as untucked when carrying AIWB. Just takes a little practice and is still faster than 4 o'clock carry for draw speed.

I don't think I could ankle carry anything. For that to be a useful way to carry it would seem one couldn't be the primary target of the bad guy. Your thoughts on that SteveM?

How quick could you get to it? Every try FOF with a bug ankle carried?
