Im going to get my first GLOCK.....A g19 to be exact...what should I get a Gen 3 or a Gen 4.....beside the backstrap and the new recoil spring they seem the same to me when I looked at them....is the gen 4 really worth the extra $70....

I have a gen 4 G19. I like it just fine. I have no qualms about a Gen 3 anything Glock. I also have a Gen 2 G17. It too is great.
Some of the early Gen 4 had some jamming issues but I believe that has been all worked out now. Mine certainly is an ammo eating son of a gun. LOL
For 70 bucks difference I would go Gen 3. I have the fat back strap in mine and unless you have super small hands the rest will make your finger stick too far into the trigger
Of course this is all my opinion.

Yes it is different. Necessary I don't think so. Gen 4 has a dual spring. One inside the other. I traded my 1911 for the one I have. I love it but only because it has been reliable. I have never seen a non reliable Gen 3 Glock of any description though.

You can buy more ammo for the 70 difference.

I have watches to work on tomorrow. LOL Would love a trip up there though. Pick a Glock any Glock you have a good running pistol that is ugly as a mud fence. oh for the record my P95 went to Colorado and didn't come back. I prefer to carry the G17 actually. It holds more bullets
