If it is not below min load for the powder it should make the shots a little closer in grouping at 100 yards or maybe even 200 yards.
When you have a light bullet in a quick twist barrel always start on the bottom end of the loading scale is seat of the pants type stuff for me.
I don't throw max loads until I get a barrel with a 1 in 10 twist then I go the push powder and see what it shoots like. I would really like to thank smoky and any others who have helped out in this thread as I don't know the AR like I do my own rifles.

I have never loaded .223/5.56 ammo so I thought it best to stay out of this thread. However, I load lots of handgun rounds in .38sp, .357 mag, 9mm & .45acp. I would like to comment on the crimp I seen in the photos. They did look excessive to me. I, too, thought in the first pic the bullet was deformed by the crimp and the second was still too much for me. But like I said, I have never loaded any .223. Actually it's been a long time since I loaded any rifle ammo, but I used to do some 30-30 and 30-06....and always just enough crimp to hold the bullet in place. One thing about reloading......if you're happy with your loads, that all that matters. Advise is as good as what you pay for it. Good luck in satisfying your expectations.

Actually I lost interest and moved on... I came across a bunch of lead and have been casting like crazy.... I started putting a slight crimp on every round and that improved my results a lot...I will have to post some results this weekend... I think I narrowed down a bullet and a load that my rifle likes...next time I won't stay away so long... I have Been trying to nail down my plans to start teaching CCW classes and NRA courses...got kind of busy and forgot all about my Internet friends...,.Im sorry...

No problems with being busy. That is what the truly conservative do.
You can tell we don't see much traffic here.
I am confident in your reloading abilities with just answering your questions.
