Zombies in the HeartlandI've heard great things about the 1st 3-Gun 'Zombies in the Heartland' match last year. Any 3-gunners out there might want to check this out. I'm planning on going up there for it....I've got family in NE, so 2 reasons for me to go!

I've wondered about doing 3 gun shoots..... I've watched some videos of courses, etc. and looked like fun. Just don't know anyone doing them, or when they are, nor a good way to get started into them.

I have seen on youtube kids doing 3 gun. I know I can't do as good as the kid so I will save my money an ammo.

I haven't done any 3-gun matches before either....but I've heard this is a good one for new 'kids' like me who want to learn (even tho I'm a little old to be a kid, I still act like one - plus my parents are going with me - so it still fits LOL!). Anyway, my Dad saw the ad for this match last year and said: "I want to go watch the zombie match - so will you shoot in it so me and your Mom have a reason to go?!" So....how could I say 'no' to that?! LOL! Seriously tho, this statement is coming from a guy who used to say guns are for 'hunting only....and maybe some trap shooting', so now that I've got him convinced that he wasn't quite right about that one - I'm going to make sure he doesn't forget. He's also the type that will talk to everyone he sees - so it's good that he learns this from more people than just me! Plus, then he goes back home and tells all his friends - and we end up with more pro-2A people. He's already had a few of his friends call me for CCH info/advice - that would have never happened a few years ago (before I sat down with him multiple times & had our 'firearms aren't just for putting food on the table' chats!

What's the real difference between a Cowboy shoot and a 3 gun shoot, just the guns ? The videos I've seen of 3 gun shoots, were no different than a lot of deals I've seen done in Cowboy shoots in the past .... where you shoot dble brrl shotgun, lever action rifle and sa revolver.

I don't know much about cowboy shoots - so I'm not sure if there is a big difference between the 2 sports, other than like you mentioned: different types of guns.
