My 13yr old daughter just joined her schools trap and skeet team...yep that's right a school that has a team that involves shooting...they had a great turn out of about 30 kids...for the second meeting they brought shotguns into the school and and demonstrated each kind of action...it was great to see gun and shooting education as a part of a extra curricular school teams...and the best part is that they are raffling off an AR15 to cover the cost of shooting fees and shells...it is a charter school so it is a little different than a regular public school but not by much...it was great to see all the excited youth...(the future of this country)....10 of the team members are girls to...that's even more encouraging...anyhow just thought I would share....

That is fantastic, did you know I used to work at a charter school?
There is nothing better than seeing the youngsters get into the shooting sports. Although the 2A was not written for the shooting sports. That is the only way new supporters of the 2A are created. The old saying " nobody wants to listen to their grandpa's music" applies.
This is a fantastic thing happening in your daughter's school.

I knew you worked at a school but I didn't know it was a charter school...it's the next best thing to home schooling...they teach through classical education... It's fantastic...the rule of thumb is as long as the kids can pass all the state standard tests they can teach how ever they want...it's one of the only schools that I have seen where the teachers want to be there...in fact everyone pitches in and cleans the school everyday...the teachers make less their than anywhere else and they are happy to stay because they love their job...

I'm glad at least one school is helping students learn that firearms are a tool - Gotta treat them with respect, but when you need one, you don't want to do without.

What's going to happen when she starts out-shooting you ?
I outshot the 4 yr in a row county champion skeet shooter ..... and then my son, turned around and outshot me. Humility was when I told him I was taking out the improved choke and put in the full choke into his gun, to find.... it already had the full choke in it.

That's too funny eagle....I hope she does outshoot me....it means I've been doing my job.....beside my shot gunning skills are horrible...if you could get a score for burning up boxes of shells though I would be champion...
