Well once again another odd visit at my house last night...Now before I get into this I know that I could have done things differently...but when it happens sometimes it just happens before you can think about it...I was heading to bed around 9pm and I was checking all the doors like I usually do...I passed by the kitchen window and I saw a long white Lincoln pull into the adjacent properties driveway and head to the back by the equipment sheds....my house sits next to a bigger house that is not currently occupied...I own an acre that has been cut off of the neighboring property...the only people that are allowed back here is the farmers that lease the acreage...in the past he has lost equipment and tools due to theft so he asked me to keep an eye on the place for him...I knew that this was a car that I have never seen before...so I told my kids where I was headed and I grabbed my G19 and my phone and quietly slipped out the door to check things out...when I got back there nothing was out of place and the Lincoln was gone...so I headed back to the front when I heard someone gunning the motor on their car....about that time this Lincoln came screaming down the road in front of my house and turned into a driveway further down the road...within seconds it turned around and came tearing back down the road past my house again....I figured it was just some idiots out hotrodding their car so I headed to my front door to go inside...about the time I was walking between my house and the front of my truck the Lincoln came flying down the road again and then came screeching to a stop into my driveway....I walked around my truck to get a better view of what they were doing and all of sudden 4 doors opened and four people got out...the motor was still running and their headlights were on so I was essentially blinded and could not see faces or pretty much anything but the outline of 4 people....they were walking right toward me very quickly...I held up my hand to tell them to stop but before I could the driver said something about looking for his lost cows...he said someone called him and said his cows were out and he wanted to know if it was me....I told him no and as far as i was concerned I hadnt seen any cows...then just as quickly as they showed up they got into their car and sped off...the whole thing was very unsettling to me....who drives like crazy when they are trying to look for their lost cows...and who try's to round up their cattle in a Lincoln continental....I had my g19 in the pocket of my basketball shorts with my hand on the grip ready to go if I needed it....a lot happened and it happened really quickly...I probably shouldn't have let them get that close and I should have been more vocal...4 against one is pretty bad odds if were to have gone bad...anyhow it gives you something to think about...
