Well I was lucky enough to draw an Antelope tag this season although its bow hunting only....it started last Thursday and runs to the end of the month...talk about frustrating....no way to spot and stalk these critters...it's hot and dry and a virtual tinder box...I hope my unit doesn't burn down... The grass is about 2 inches tall due to no rain and past fires...I have to hunt the water holes... It's the only way to maybe get close enough... You set up a blind and you stick out like crazy...oh well... I'm headed out again Thursday morning to frustrate myself once more....lol

For sure. You need to understand how the mountain men did it. LOL
It won't take a lot of it is as dry up there as you say it is. just get upwind of the water hole.

Probably anything green and leafy will work....although anything hydrated will really stand out...

Antelope can eat alfalfa so hot it would kill a horse or cow. They go nuts for it. They got good eyes so you got to get them with their noses.

You could order you up a San Luis Valley Colorado bail of alfalfa and set it in your yard and it would not take long for you to be over ran with antelope.

So my hunt went Good and bad.....shot one at 30 yds...good shot lots of blood arrow went clear thru....last time I saw he was covered in blood...u could see it dripping and running down his leg...blood trail went for about a mile...then we lost it...we looked for more blood for an hour...no luck...we then spread out and searched for him for 5 hours....we have no clue where he went....
