Thought I would mention it in here , that Wyoming now recognizes Kansas ... .... that was one of the reasons I got a Utah permit, then right after that Wyo quit recognizing Utah. Ugh. Now I can take the kids on that trip to Wyo. I wanted to do . ag.ks.gov/public-safety/concealedcarry/out-of-state-license-recognitionAlabama, everything and everyone "says" that the law signed in May by the Governor, among other things changed it to "recognize cc licenses of all of the states" . The only problem is, the Alabama and Ks AG sites, still don't show it, can't find a copy of the law anywhere, etc. to verify anything. So, I did email the Alabama AG asking if they could verify this and point me to a copy of the law. The law also made it "shall issues" (which Sheriff's are still complaining about), can carry in restaurants that serve alcohol, and the one really getting attention.... can carry at sports events unless they have 'security measures" (metal detectors, wands, and similar measures, + guards to check people at gates, etc). Employers are whining about employess can now keep guns in their cars. So, the anti's are the one's whining, and it's freedoms that obviously some of them don't want people to have.

Got a "hard copy" sent to me by the Alabama AG's office, and went thru it. NO idea why the two AG sites don't reflect this :
OK ..... whew.... getting thru that law is something else. They have a LOT of stuff about what employers can't do , what they can do, when they can do or can't do it, etc. if an employee has a gun in their vehicle. Man, they did not keep that simple..... it leaves the employer deciding if the person is a potential "threat". I don't think employers should have that authority... I think that aspect could be eventually "challenged" in court.
OK.. to the pertinent section of Act 2013-283 (hard copy sent me by the Alabama's AG office) :
Page 15 (lower 1/2 of page)
S13A-11-85; (a) A person licensed to carry a a handgun in any state shall be authorized to carry a handgun in this state. A license holder from another state shall carry the handgun in compliance with the laws of this state.
(b) The Attorney General is authorized to enter into reciprocal agreements with other states for the mutual recognition of licenses to carry handguns and shall periodically publish a list of states which recognize licenses issued pertinent to Section 13A-11-75.
So, no idea why the Kansas AG has not updated the Kansas site to reflect this, nor why the Alabama AG's site has not been updated to this. But, now have the "hard proof".
Oh, it was to go into effect the 1st day of the 3rd month, after it was signed by the Governor. It was "stamped" as received by the Governor on May 20th. My understanding is that the Governor signed it May 25th. Thus, how everyone got the August 1 date for it becoming effective.
