TrailerDwarf & I will be moving this month. We're in the process of buying a foreclosed home close to where he works, so he'll move out of the 5th wheel trailer he's been living in for 4 years. Anyone want to buy a travel trailer? Due to the financing on our new house, it will have to become our "principal" home. We're still keeping the house we own, and our sons will live in it. I'll be splitting up my time more between the two locations, and am looking for work there, to help pay for the added expenses. Because it was a foreclosure, we got a really good price on the house, so decided we'd better not pass it up. It is all one-level, and with my health issues, that will be a big help. It is just inside the edge of town, so we won't be able to shoot on that property, but at least it is almost as quiet as living in the country. Looks like this month is going to get real busy!

Uh, I've been debating trailer, 5th wheel or RV. Have nothing that will pull a 5th wheel right now , so that goes in the equation, but not a stopper either, as I'm looking for a good truck with a larger back cab to it for the 'grown up' kids now. Let me know the info if you would.
The advantage of the RV to me is that I can tow a trailer with my motorcycle on the back if I want... but maintaining another 'motor', the maintenance, etc. doesn't excite me... and with a trailer or 5th wheel, I can disconnect and have a vehicle to use then.

I hate moving...eeesh! But, I know how you feel. Our living room and bedroom have been sitting in our dining room for a week now. We were supposed to have new carpet installed last Tuesday. But, when they showed up and opened the van, I took one look and told them "That ain't our carpet." SOOO, here we sit, waiting for the correct carpet to arrive.

At least I don't have to worry about the carpet. FreddyMac put in new carpet, and I like the color. The walls are a good neutral color too, just needs touching up in a few spots.
If you need a truck to pull a 5th wheel, we also plan on selling our Dodge Ram. It has a crew cab. If anyone is interested in buying either the trailer or the truck, PM TrailerDwarf.
I hate moving too, but since we're not emptying our current residence, it is a lot less stressful. We've got enough stuff for the most part, that it is mostly just deciding which goes and which stays. The houses are about 1 1/2 hours apart, so we don't have to move everything in one load, although I'd like to get all the furniture we plan on moving done in one trip. The new place is with walking distance (not for me, but for healthy people) to Walmart, so at least if we forget to move something we can't live without, it won't be far to go get a replacement.

LMAO ... I know a younger guy who was 'renting' and buying his first house from a couple who had retired, had a place in Florida and were moving there. When talking to them during a walk-thru, they mentioned they were going to be selling all of their furniture, etc. as well.... because they wouldn't need it and sure weren't going to move it. He liked the furniture, etc.... so he made a deal with them to include all of the furniture, lamps, etc. as well. HE had a garage sell and sold all his stuff, loaded up his clothes and personal stuff, and moved in. I asked him if he 'rearranged' anything and he said 'no', he liked it just like it was.
I knew the son of one Bank VP who bought a new house, and refused to let them take anything with them to the new house except their very personal use items, clothes, etc. Nothing from the old house went to the new one... no furniture, clocks, towels, sheets, beds, pillows .............. nothing.... not even the pots, pans, cookware, utensils nor dishes in the kitchen.

The house we're buying is completely empty. No refrigerator, no stove, no built-in microwave/range hood, and definitely no washer & dryer. Obviously, we'll have to buy some things for it, but it will be good to spread out the furniture we own now, between two houses. (After my mom died, I took some of hers, and our house was already crowded.) We already have two dining room tables & enough chairs for both, although the one we'll keep here only seats 4-6. Still, I know the little things I'll end up buying will add up. Went to Walmart & Lowe's yesterday and bought things I knew we needed. (Like a shower curtain.) Once we get moved in, there will be lots more to buy, I'm sure. Just wish I was as sure that we'll have the money to buy them!
