The new sign is apparently to disrupt CCH forums.
It has no real effect for anyone who carries past it after July 1st.

The new sign is a "feel good" for the liberal types that want to post their "public" (government) buildings without having to provided the security required by the new statue that allows them to post. BUT...they will only have six months to provide required security or request the 4 year exemption. After that, they are without an excuse.

Someone needs to tell them without the security they will not know who all is carrying past their silly sign that carries no penalty.

It's about "employee carry" .... ID those buildings that have exemptions, then employees may revert to the pre-2013 penalties ... e.g. misdemeanor charge. Trying to get a clarification on that from the AG's office. Most of "Schmidt's " comments, even in his own release says... "it will be unlawful to carry past the sign". .... but that doesn't clarify anything. Also, the "employer/employee" part of this doesn't change, they can still make policies prohibiting employees from carrying, under the laws then & now... so no difference there. It's all about whether it's "criminal" or not for employees. To the typical CC holder, I don't see any difference... and can't find one and no one has been able to tell me one... it's not a crime to carry past they sign and they can ask you to leave.

I think it's funny .... Wichita School District issued there POLICY statement, that policies will make it clear that "no one can carry a gun LEGALLY (cc or otherwise) into a school EXCEPT AN LEO. Wichita Eagle put that all in an article, and several in the "comment" section reminded them... "it's not a crime for any CC holder to carry past their signs"..... no matter what their "Policy " says.
They hate it when the populace tells them they are wrong, and stand up for their rights.
I remember a discussion with a Principle of a school once... who told me "we will decide what's best and it is entirely up to us", then I handed her copies of some statutes where they had violated 3 laws in Ks... and could be sued for violating them and I would 'own them' before that was over .... and where the laws also stated... "the schools cannot do this and that without parental permission", and a few other things. Then I told her "what was going to happen", and then handed her a card for my attorney and told her ... "and if anything different than that happens, you need to give him a call ... he'll be more than happy to talk to you... because he's ready to have a court injunction issued on you before the afternoon is over and is waiting for me to call him to let him know the outcome of this meeting when it's over ". I asked her, "now, would you like to start this conversation over from the start".
