pvpost.com/2013/06/11/openly-car ... ired-18987 Openly carried guns to be absent at Harmon Park, but opening salvo in new legal battle firedWhile the group may not have succeeded in gaining permission to openly carry firearms on Sunday, it has likely won a strategic victory for gun rights activists: the proof of “injury” that was sorely lacking in the Libertarian Party’s case against the city. Nelson confirmed that he has been working with members of the Libertarian Party in coordinating their efforts. “The next steps are kind of above my paygrade, but, yes, absolutely, legal action against the city is possible now,” he said. Johnson County Open Carry has sought similar permits in Leawood and Lenexa as well.

Thanks for sharing that. Most cities think their ordinances trump state law. They would be wrong.

Some .... want to refuse and ignore the State law if they can get away with it. It would not be the first time they've enforced a law that was no longer valid. They aren't liking that it won't be ignored, and the Libertarian party won't let them, and they will go screaming and yelling and wasting taxpayer money on attorney fees in the meantime .....
It sure shows their "true colors" ....
Some cities have suggested they will also "ignore" the new Kansas knife law , taking effect July 1.
They forget that they are living in a state where over 80% ( I was thinking it was 88%) of the people voted for adding an amendment to the Kansas Constitution protecting the ownership, etc of guns a few years back.
