I have seen comments elsewhere about how quick they are running out of ammo ... when they get a notification they have in stock.
But, I have some various ammunition "on notify" , and I've seen a "pattern" as a result , not just on one ammo, that has repeated itself almost daily.
I think they are just purely trying to "dump" their "notify" files on the system, and don't actually have it in stock in the first place.
I get notified via email it's in stock. Check... it's showing "out of stock" . Reput in "to notify" . Within literally 5 seconds to 10 minutes later, get a notification it's in stock. Go instantly right back into their site, and "out of stock" .
I have played with this, and it repeats constantly. I've left it logged on.... cleared cookies, etc. ... and got emails "in stock" and instantly clicked to their site and refreshed page, and "out of stock" .
I think it's all a game and they are just clearing out the "notify" files, or .... the quantity is extremely low and the first 1-2 buyers buy it out. But, if that's true... why would it be notifying in 5 minutes, it's in stock .... and I can do that 4 times on the same ammo over a period of an 30 min to an hour, and it never shows "in stock".

I have all but given up finding 9mm in stock anywhere. I am hoarding what I have and will only use it for self defense.

Midway did it again today. Notified "in stock" and all of the same 4 ammo's, out of stock. Put myself back on the notify list. Occurs roughly twice a day, so they are just clearing their system of notifications. If they aren't going to do them, just tell everyone and disable it on their website, rather than play games with it.

They are still doing it, on a daily basis.

Call and talk to Larry...seriously. This is BS and they should do something about the false notifications.

Got some notifications today, went in to Midway.... and they killed the "notify" buttons, they were no longer functional. That's what I suspected. I know those ammo's aren't going away .... so maybe Midway is just giving up on it. Have to watch a few other things to see if they are doing that on everything, or just select things.
Sure don't want to check several places every day to see if they have it or not. That would be a lot of wasted effort.
I'm becoming convinced now, something besides hoarding is at work, because even a lot of the gorging sellers are dropping off places and prices were dropping down to almost normal. But, it's still not showing up at any of the major ammo suppliers.
Is this a fear that internet sales will be ended if the one bill gets passed ? They don't want to order it, etc. and have the inventory on hand if it does ?

Good point. I know I've read somewhere that a retailer stated they would order no more pending outcome of legislative votes. However, I've also read from a suppliers' report that the 2013 production is gone, meaning suppliers cannot possibly fill any new orders this year. So, if Midway was caught with their pants down trying to control the costs associated with inventory like Walmart does; then, they and others who didn't order far enough ahead won't have much for the rest of this year.

I wouldn't be surprised. That would sure have to hurt their bottom line.

It means for folks like me hanging onto the ammo we have is really important. I don't have a chance to run to wally world to restock any practice type ammo. Can't find reloading supplies of which I am not short on anything but bullets.
I fear we will see this as long as Obama is President and past if the Democrats win the next Presidential election.
