Have you had kids, and when they are young... they are just outward with no filter in public ?
One day... we're standing in the check out line, and the woman in front of us..... well, just lets one go.... a real BOMB. My grandson .... being about 4 yrs old ..... and I think as loudly as he can says : "Granddad that WOMAN farted..... and it smells really Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad " . When I told him to be quiet, he says LOUDLY .... "But it really STINKS" . But, could he only say it once, oh no, he has to say it at the top of his voice about 10 times.
Thing was... it really was "BAD"..... LOL.
I wonder if that woman ever went shopping there again. She couldn't leave fast enough.
We had to have a discussion about using discretion & etiquette in public, as well.

Yeah, it is a real challenge trying to stay one step ahead of what your kid is about to do in public. Between being a "stay-at-home" mom and a homeschool mom, for about 17 years or so, I seldom went without a kid(s) tagging along. I remember that Bibliovore learned to read at a very early age (unlike WebGeek), and what a challenge it was standing in the checkout lines with him. He is basically a compulsive reader, and of course, the tabloids covers are right there where he's bored. This happened to be during the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Can you imagine the questions I got from him? Of course, my husband's favorite memory is probably the time a man with a wife and several daughters (no sons) were setting up at the next campsite over, in a MN campground. The guy was doing all of the work, while the females were for the most part, just watching. Bibliovore yelled over to him, "Are you henpecked?"
