I grew up in the mountains. LOL the only fish to eat there was Trout. I moved away from the mountains and in the course of the years following I found I really love Lobster. Also a lot of other fish.
I like them steamed. I like them grilled.
I just like them pretty much any way they can be cooked so.....
Tell me how you cook your Lobster.

I like fish that don't have a fishy taste. I like salmon smoked, smoked trout, deep fried Striped Bass, catfish if they are not too big (pound & half is about right), shrimp (bacon wrapped & BBQ'd), lobster fixed just about anyway.

I like almost any fish but Trout. They taste like the water them come out of.
I love Pacific Salmon. They are the best there is for fish to eat for health and good taste.
You want to talk bacon wrapped the best thing I ever had wrapped in bacon was a bob white quail. Bacon wrapped scallops are also high on my list of seafood treats.
One of my favorite fishes to eat is the spoonbill. Get all the red cut out of it fry it in whole wheat batter and you have the tastiest meal ever. imho

I like salmon just about any way you can fix it. Halibut is high on my list, also. Scallops, sea bass, red snapper, shark...all tasty eats. Fresh tuna is good as well. Cats(pan-sized), crappy, bluegill, brownies are my favorites from fresh water. Not a big fan of the shellfish.

Back on topic tho.....When I was about 5 or 6yrs old, I ordered catfish at a restaurant - they brought me the whole thing - eyes and all! Even tho I was used to going fishing and helping my brother clean the fish we caught, something about that fish looking back at me on the dinner plate made me lose my appetite!! I don't remember what happened, I think they took it back and cut the head off for me or something! You guys are making me hungry for fish. I love just about any kind of fish, except raw ones! I'm not much of a fan of scallops either. Crab legs made on the grill with butter and lemon are my favorite - I like that as much as lobster. My mouth is watering now! I'm glad it's almost grilling season again!

Why, dirtdiver, you've never had cashew kitty? LOL! More on cats, you should try "buffalo" catfish sometime...deep fry some catfish chunks and then toss in some Frank's Hot Sauce.
Back before I could legally drive, the owner of the local Chinese restaurant found out that I fished a bunch. He told me to bring him fish and I could have anything the restaurant cooked...even cheeseburger...you no pay! I asked what fish he liked...you bring me carp, big one. They would cook it whole...except the innards. I never had to pay...ever. And in case you wondered, it was never served in the restaurant. Only family and me, if I wanted...which, occasionally, I would sit and eat with the family at the table in the back of the kitchen.

Trout is the fish you must cook with the head on or you get too many bones to even like eating.
Cats I fillet and love myself and so does my kids and wife.
I like crab but very seldom eat it as my wife loves it so I let her have at it.
I still love lobster. LOL My favorite thing to eat for never have caught one.
When it comes to having to get your own dinner Kansas deer is the top of my list for things to eat.

So,,,what does leaving the head on trout have to do with bones..or not. Seems to me if I cut the head off, that will eliminate some bones right there.

Trout have small bones. If you cut the head off of them before cooking them you have taken away the ability to strip all the bones from the meat.
I suppose you could cut the head off a large sized trout and get the bones out the same way after cooking but on a brookie if you cut the head off you will be eating bones with the meat. One of those may kill you too. They are small bones and needle like to your digestive system.

Curious, TK, how does the head help deal with those bones? Teach me something and maybe I can enjoy a trout again.

It is the pry bar attached to the spine. Once the trout is cooked you pick it up by the head and pull up gently and you take a fork and pry down. The whole bones should come out leaving a skeleton and the meat separated.

This method mentioned by tkarter is perfect and I've used it for years. I still think lobster is my favorite seafood...just above Walleye fillets fried with a good batter...but I only get it once or twice a year. Too pricey. Yum.

I have never had walleye. I hear it is great tasting fish. I think just because I have never caught one. LOL
