I have never really needed anyone to show me how to conceal a gun successfully. I have read lots of good advice that helped me change my ways of thinking from time to time.
I know that it takes a change in mindset to successfully carry every day everywhere you go. Including places you probably shouldn't carry but find that you have to because of circumstance.
This is where you have to be cool and know and trust your method of carry.
While I am not advising anyone to carry into a posted premises. I do understand that not everyone carries a gun and there will be times when you are with friends who don't carry and have to just go along. The old dealing with peer pressure thing.
That is when you have to trust your concealment is good and just forget you have a gun unless things go way south. Then be glad you did have a gun.
The purpose of the CCH class is to teach laws. I learned that upon taking the class. It doesn't teach you to carry a gun nor does it teach you how to fight.
It does and should teach you what and when the law allows you to use a gun to defend yourself or another.
There are advanced courses available taught by several instructors that can teach you how to fight with the gun you carry.
But I still want to say and make it clear the CCH license which is required to have to conceal a gun legally, that class is all about teaching you the laws. Not how to carry a gun successfully.
Some of us know how to successfully conceal a handgun without taking a class on doing so and some of us don't. Probably more shame in knowing how to than not knowing. Since only the criminal element tends to do such things.
Anyway I am trying to inspire a constructive CCH discussion thread here and would love to hear each of your thoughts on both what I have typed and what you know about CCH.
