Why do you feel you need 6X on an AR?

Anything under 250-300 yrds all I need is an iron site. Because some of the things I would like to be able to hit accurately and consistently, are much further than that.

3X is is a good amount of magnification for an AR. It lets lots of light in and has a great field of view. The higher magnification scopes need more light and have less field of view. The AR is not a sniper rifle but it can be deadly at long range. Lamenting not getting the 6x I wouldn't be.

I own the 6X and can tell you its as accurate as my Acog if not more due to wind holds. It's ranging bracket is very accurate. I ranged my friend at 600 yards and verified it with range finder. I love this reticle it is well thought out. I would love to see it in a 1X4 or 1X6.
