Right now I don't think you will find too many kansans busting out the shorts either. LOL I don't know about that. I've seen too many people wearing them year round the last few years. Saw some kid wrestlers tonight at the restaurant we ate at - shorts & hoodies. I guess fashion is more important than comfort for some.

True that maybe we can say Thanks to Obamacare for their lack of good sense?

Soccer game today : 30*F & Snowing, and one kids shows up wearing his soccer shorts and shirt, that was "IT". He lasted 10 minutes, and that was it. Two parents told me they couldn't get their kids to wear anything warm...... why do they have an option ? Who's the parent there ? Anyway, parents then took him home. Key player too and we needed him today.

I would have made my kid stay and play if he chose that route. Would be the last time he didn't listen on clothing choices for the day.

Both my kids are teens now and occasionally they misplace their common sense...and we have to have a "talk".

I remember those days, and my reply was always, "You don't have to wear it, just bring it along in case you change your mind." There were times that they were glad to run back to the vehicle and grab that jacket. Nowadays, before they leave for class, they'll ask "What's the weather like today?"

Where I grew up was high and cold. One knew better from an early age than to run off in the heat of the day without a blanket.

Staying inside where it is nice & warm! Church even got canceled, so no reason to venture out. I guess they figured they'd have a difficult time getting the parking areas & walkways cleared in time for service. Wouldn't want someone falling on the ice, then suing the church. Of course, there's plenty of little ol' ladies and geezers who could easily hurt themselves falling. Funny thing is they had an Easter Egg hunt (to draw in the mostly low income neighborhood) scheduled for this morning. Could have been interesting looking in the snow for eggs! Postponed until Wednesday evening.

The snow here is just water waiting to happen. Got maybe 3 inches. Kind of hard to tell since it was powder and the wind blows like only it can in Kansas.
