So I spent a little time at the range today....I went with a friend who wanted me to shoot his Kimber 1911....I had never shot a 1911 or a .45 caliber before....I have to say that I love that gun...it was like driving a Cadillac....I shot superbly with that gun...in fact my buddy kept saying that that 1911 Kimber loved me...it was easy to shoot...in fact I shot better than him and it was his gun....I will own a Kimber 1911 by the time the summers over....now to convince the wife I need a $1000 gun....lol...

That is the way of the 1911. Any of them. They are really accurate guns and a joy to shoot.
I can see why some will carry them. Not for me in that way but one day again I will own another 1911 the Lord willing.

High Standard has come out with a very nice compact 1911 in the $550 price range I've read some good reviews about. I think it was called a "Crusader" and was only available through Lipsey's.

I have a Springfield I carry around the farm and a Para Nighthawg for CC. I'm beginning to second guess the double stack .45 and I don't exactly have large hands. I guess you could say the Para is a "handful"...definitely accurate, though. I guess you could say I'm "itching to pull the trigger" on that High Standard. (Man, I brought my A-game today...LOL)

I had a Metro arms 1911 it was super accurate. I just never got comfy carrying it due to reduced capacity. I like to carry those guns with 15 or more rounds per magazine.

I like my 1911 as well. The aluminum frame makes it lighter to carry but you can tell a difference in the recoil as well compared to a full sized solid steel 1911.

Then cock and lock it. It looks funny that way. It looks funny too.
