Here is the skinny on carrying AWIB from my point of view. ( not IMHO ) Up front is where most will stick a pistol even without a holster. But with a holster you want one that is straight up and down or a little reverse cant. The best holsters I have found for carrying up front have been the Don Hume 715 if you can do untucked If you have to tuck then Dale Fricke makes the go to holster for that. www.dalefrickeholsters.com/I have modified a holster from him for CC and loved it but I finally got one from him that I love for tucked carry AWIB It is the JOAB Covert. It is safe for drawing from and re-holstering It covers the trigger well on a Glock or any other pistol it is made for. Carrying any way tucked one has to blouse out the shirt to hide the gun. The Joab requires less blousing than any other holster I have had including the CBST for carry. It uses a J clip design so there is less to show on the belt. It works for my G 17 or G 19. I will have to take a heat gun to it to get the P95 into it. But that I shall do. I modify most holsters to suit myself. Upfront carry is the easiest when tucked and one can't afford to be made carrying IMHO once again.

Great article! I started carrying in the appendix, because of the ease of concealment. But I have noticed how easy it is to draw from there, without announcing your intentions. Mine sits right on top of my right front pants pocket. Reaching for the holstered gun (under the loose untucked shirt) looks a lot like reaching in my pocket for something. The few times I had worn my pistol more at the typical 4:00 position, it was extremely uncomfortable to sit in my car, with that bulge back there. Concealment, comfort, easy of drawing - I see no reason for me to quit carrying in the front.

I thought carrying at 4 was right for a long time since that is the way most holsters and most people carry. Silly me. I should have known the same old way I carried as a kid was the best way.
Now the old dog is doing what he knows will work best and if it teaches the younger dogs okay.

great holster there. I have to carry tucked so it wouldn't work out so well for my needs.

I prefer to carry AIWB too - in a CTAC or a "neutral carry" MTAC. I like to use the MTAC when I'm driving a long distance (the backing makes it more comfy), but I prefer the kydex on both sides -CTAC holster- the rest of the time.....especially in the summer.
I like carrying AIWB because it's the most comfortable place for me to conceal a full-sized gun: I can easily conceal an HK P30 or a Glock 23 or 26 -- I don't tuck in my shirts tho. And, as others have mentioned, it's quick to draw and get on target when carrying there.
The only time I get nervous about reholstering my gun is when I'm sitting down.....only because it's pointed right at my femoral artery! I usually just put the gun in the holster before tucking the holster in my pants.....that solves that reholstering concern!

I have thought a lot about where the gun is pointed. It helps me keep my finger off the trigger. Right now I am using the 3speed and it is the easiest way I have found to AIWB carry while tucked.
I still like my Dale Fricke holsters for the blue jeans and t-shirt better though.
The 3speed prints more in my casual attire and also is hot when the temps go up.
I know carrying isn't about comfort for me. It is about me being confident and that makes me comfortable. The G19 is the smallest pistol I have ever carried.
I still prefer my G17 to carry because of how many rounds it holds.
I don't have my P95 any longer. I sent it to my son in Colorado before it became illegal to do so there.
I have found two great holsters for how I have to carry. Both expensive. Now if I could find some ammo so I could shoot a little more.

If you were you hid the gun like a pro. and looked awesome in doing so.

You weren't printing in the least either!

I would bet we were the only ones there carrying. LOL
We didn't alarm anyone.
But if you were carrying you hide a gun easier than I can.
I figured your hubby was carrying and he too hid the gun well.
You two are a beautiful couple also. It was a real pleasure to meet the both of you.
