I mailed TrailerDwarf's and my renewal applications in on May 1st. They came in the mail today. Twelve days, including the weekends. Now to go to the DMV - that will seem as long as the rest of the process took.

The DMV is the hardest part of renewing. Renewal is the easiest part of CCH in Kansas.
I when I renewed mine read it and then forgot to send a copy of my drivers license. Upon realizing that I figured I was screwed but sent a copy by mail and asked they append it to my renewal. It got done and back in 8 days.
When I went into the DMV the guy just said okay go over there get you picture taken. LOL He looked me over like he knew I was carrying. I wasn't at that time though. Still had the empty holster on.
Actually the hard part of my renewal was getting the notary part done. Then I recall I believe it was you that told me Dillions had a notary and I got past that part too.

We used the notary at our bank in Independence. There are no Dillons anymore in Indy. I was glad that I knew that bank was fine with CC, as the notary (branch manager) sure noticed that's what it was for. I worked hard to get them in the mail before we left for Florida, otherwise who knows when we would have got them in the mail. I was glad someone said they used their printer to print the photos on plain paper, as that would have been a pain otherwise. We had our son take our pictures, I removed the distracting backgrounds, and printed them out. I even mailed the apps in the same envelope to the KS AG, and the post office here rarely has a line. Not looking forward to the DMV, guess I'll have to get up early, bring a book and plan to wait for hours.

Mine took about 10 days from point of mailing it to receiving it... we were the first group to go thru for renewals (2010).

I went to the Andover DMV this morning. A little over two hours later, I left with my paper. Very discreet service from the employee. I had put my CCL in the envelope with the approval from the KS AG, and handed it over to her. She said she needed my license, and I told her it was in the envelope. Nothing verbal was said that could have told anyone else that it wasn't a DL renewal, unless they realized I didn't have to take an eye exam and answer the questions they require for that.

TrailerDwarf had to gloat tonight. He went to the DMV in Indy, and was able to walk right up to the counter. Out the door in five minutes.

Good for him it is seldom that it happens for me that I get to do that with my wife.
