Thought it might be good to start a thread related to updates ... when Brownbach signs any of the gun related bills . Hopefully we can keep 'adding' to this thread .... and it will include all of them.
4/10 Brownbach signed 22 bills, and only one remotely gun related : HB 2278 enhances the penalty for theft or burglary of a firearm including making theft of a firearm valued at less than $25,000 a severity level 9.

4/11 signed 8 bills : included SB 81 : makes several changes to the Kansas Open Records Act (KORA), including exempting home addresses or home ownership records from searchable websites of officers, judges, and prosecuting attorneys, at their request. The new law prohibits a public agency from disclosing the name, home address, e-mail address, phone numbers, or other contact information for any person licensed to carry concealed handguns, any person who has enrolled in or completed weapons training for concealed carry licensure, or any person who has applied for a concealed carry license. www.hayspost.com/2013/04/12/gove ... etoes-one/

It looks like the easiest way to keep up with what the Governor signs is his facebook page.

Well.. insider info I guess , because I haven't seen that any have been signed: KSRA update ;
Finally, here it is! A comprehensive summary of the new legislation passed this session including the voting record. Please keep in mind that none of these new laws will go in to effect until July 1, 2013. I've included summaries on HB 2111 and SB 45 which have not completed the process at this time. All other bills have been signed by the Governor! This has been a great year and I'm very proud of the work that has been accomplished! Thank you to all of those who answered the call to attend hearings, send emails and make phone calls to rally for these bills! Yours In Freedom, Patricia Stoneking KSRA President They refer to HB2033-knives, SB21-All cc lic recognized, SB 102 - 2nd Amendment Freedom Act, HB2052 Mega Gun Bill, the proposed but not yet passed : SB2111- State pre-emption law, SB45- prohibition lobbying against firearms with taxpayer money,

It said he signed all the bills on his desk. Either they weren't there or the papers chose to not publish them as signed.
Check the governor's facebook page it seems to be the fastest to find out.
I still don't see how they are not ready to go until July unless that is the next time the register is published and be legal.
I understand how Kansas laws making works.

My link is the Governors website, where they post any bills that he signs. I wasn't going by the paper, because the paper was not specific on the bills. Don't confuse the "Registry" .... with republishing the "Book of statutes". If it's effective when it's published in the registry, that is published with new bills every Thursday that will then go into effect. The Book of Statutes, is only reprinted and published every JULY 1.... they can approve a printing outside of that thru legislation, but it's been very rare they do. There was no reason in particular to hold them off until July 1.

That helps in some way. Kansas laws usually go into effect once they are published. and every bill states that

Appreciate that info. But, they didn't have this info on the site Apr 6th, or even days after that. The only thing I can imagine happened is , that a few days later they realized he had signed more bills than they realized, and rather than just the 31 they showed he had signed, that he had six (6) others as well... and then put it on the site.
The other day when I found it on the Bill, showing it had been signed Apr 6th,... I had checked the Governors site I check and it still didn't have that info. at that point.
I just don't take for granted that anything is signed, until I see some type of official verification somewhere.

I didn't see it there either after hearing it was reported that he had signed it. I reckon they figured they better hide it under the next days bill signing session. LOL
